You are welcome at the Vietnam-U.S. Photo/Video Sharing group at Flickr.com:
http://www.flickr.com/groups/vietnam-unitedstates_sharing
How this group started:
I’m a Vietnam vet. In February of 2012 I returned to Vietnam to see how the country had changed since I was there in 1970. I found that the Vietnamese, young and old, are very friendly toward Americans. A guide in Hanoi who belongs to the photo social network, Flickr, showed me some of his photos on an iPad. That’s when I got the idea to start a Flickr group of Vietnamese and U.S. photographers and film makers.
The purpose of this group is to help Vietnamese and Americans understand and
appreciate each other’s cultures, and to lay a foundation for lasting friendships by
sharing photographs and videos.
I hope you’ll join. Here are some suggestions for group members:
Your Flickr photographs and videos will likely help to inform others better if you type in at least a brief description with each one. And the group’s purpose will be aided further if you comment on others’ photos and videos and participate in group discussions (see the “discussion” link on the group’s home page).
You might find the free online translation resource, http://www.translate.google.com, a handy way to translate their comments into English or Vietnamese.
When commenting on photos or videos and participating in discussions, please be respectful. The co-moderators, Vietnamese and American, reserve the right to remove photos and videos from the group pool which are not in accord with the group’s purpose.
What should one share at the Vietnam-U.S. Photo/Video Sharing group?
Artful photographs and videos are of course always welcome. But documentary ones are too. When considering what to upload to the group pool ask yourself: Which of my photos or videos will teach persons in a far-away land what life is like in my own? What do I want to share about life here?

TCDavis
